Mission accomplished

Hello!

A personal message to the readers of my blog. I had a personal mission to write 10 articles on the Bates method and publish them in EzineArticles directory. Well, I am happy to report that

Mission accomplished.

And, as an additional bonus my account is upgraded to the Platinum status. That means more quality articles are coming in the future from your truly.

Time for champagne. Cheers!

Alice,

I cannot thank you enough for starting this blog. I have had the Bates book for years, but I never really grasped its approach until I started reading your posts. I have researched the topic of natural vision improvement a little bit (so much misinformation and scams!), and yours is the first one I feel has a level-headed approach. Your assessment of so-called Bates teachers is invaluable.

I am tired of hearing about how Bates was a quack (most mainstream medical establishment), or how not wanting to see the world outside is a cause of myopia (or some other unsubstantiated NewAge-y approach). You are the only person I've found who actually writes intelligently about natural vision improvement. Everyone has a bias and no doubt you prefer certain methods, but I can at least trust you to be mindful of your own bias.

An e-course will be great, as you seem to have the ability to present the Bates method clearly and logically. If you haven't, will you please write about vision therapy (i.e., the approach by the "College of Optometrists in Vision Development")? Also, what is the story on The American Vision Institute?

Please keep up the good work. We need more people like you.

Hi, Alice!

You have really helped me with my eyesight.

A few years ago I went into a optometrist's shop to have my eyes checked since I used eyeglasses for driving--he said "You are now getting old enough to consider wearing bi-focals".

Thank goodness I never got them--and since then you have helped me to even pass my DMV test without any eye glasses at all!

Thanks!

Megumi,

Thanks for the comment. It's always good to hear from my readers.

I will have to look into vision therapy.

As for The American Vision Institute it's the standard eye exercises (roll 'em up and down). I wrote an article about them at Ezine. Shortly: they don't seem to have any effect on the vision improvement because the muscles involved are not designed for that kind of activity.

It's nice to have you here.

Thomas,

You story illustrates the typical approach of our medicine. They prescribe glasses without bothering to check your vision and recommend bifocals because of your age.

Glad to hear that your eyesight is good now. And it's great to being able to remove vision restriction on your driver's license.

Keep those ojos sharp! And thanks for commenting. Always appreciated.
